I heard about Dr. Chen from Princeton University. I was horribly disappointed to see the subpar work from her. There is a downplay on anesthesia- one of the most important aspects of dental care. It is concerning how this is considered quality dental work.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Chen and the entire team at LC Quality Dental. Both of my children (ages 4 and 5) have been coming here, and every visit has been an incredibly positive experience. Dr. Chen is patient, gentle, and truly knows how to work with young kids. Whether it’s a routine cleaning, fluoride varnish, or even a filling, she always finds a way to help my children feel comfortable and cooperative.

My family had been going to LC Quality Dental for years, and Dr. Chen and the whole staff is amazing. The clinic is super clean, staff is courteous and exceptional with their service. We love the flexibility of weekend schedule for kids so we dont have to pull them out of school or take time off work during the weekdays. Highly recommend.

Doctors have told me I have permanently lost taste on the right side of my tongue after treatment at this clinic. (Please seek a second opinion before any dental treatment)
This review reflects only my personal experience as a patient.
I felt rushed when signing the consent form for wisdom tooth extraction and I do not recall any detailed discussion of serious risks such as nerve injury. Soon after the procedure, I developed persistent symptoms—tongue numbness, loss of taste, and difficulty swallowing. Several doctors I saw in the following years told me these symptoms are consistent with a possible permanent nerve injury.
As a healthcare worker, I understand that all procedures carry risks, but I believe patients deserve time, clear explanations, and real choices. At this clinic, consultation, initial exam, cleaning, fillings, and extraction were all done in my first visit, in roughly four hours. Several dentists I saw for second opinions said that, in their view, the filling and extraction might not have been urgently necessary, and that the amount I paid could have covered treatment by an oral surgeon in NJ.
I also later learned more about the difference between a general dentist and an oral surgeon. As of today and to the best of my knowledge, the two dentists at this clinic, Dr. Li Chen and Dr. Juhin Patel, are general dentists. While general dentists are legally allowed to perform extractions, orthodontic treatment, and implant procedures, I personally would now choose a specialist with additional surgical training and advanced imaging for surgical or high-risk procedures. Some of the dentists and specialists I consulted told me they believed my outcome might have been different if an oral surgeon had performed the extraction.
A friend of mine was also advised here to have wisdom teeth removed. When they sought a second opinion elsewhere, the other dentist said there was “no need right now.” This experience reinforced for me that reasonable dentists can disagree, and that second opinions are important.
Another issue I experienced was with a preventive filling. A tooth that had never hurt before developed a serious infection after the filling was done. When I reported swelling and an abscess, I felt that the conversation focused more on an additional exam fee than on my symptoms and concerns. The infection occurred during my pregnancy, and the apicoectomy and repeated X-rays I later needed at another clinic became one of the most painful experiences of my pregnancy—ironically, I had agreed to the preventive filling partly to avoid dental problems during pregnancy.
Based on my experience, my strongest advice is: Always get a second opinion before any irreversible dental treatment. It may save you years of pain, regret, and expensive complications.

I had to find a new dentist after my previous dentist closed his office, and it turned out to be a positive change. At my old office, the doctor sometimes did the cleaning himself, and it only took a few minutes. I often felt that my teeth were not properly cleaned. At Dr. Chen’s office, the hygienist is very thorough and takes the time to clean my teeth carefully without rushing. Dr. Chen is also patient during her examinations and explains any potential issues. She never over-treats or recommends unnecessary procedures just to make money. She has excellent work ethic and always focuses on what is truly needed. I highly recommend Dr. Chen’s dental office.

Dr Chen is a very smart, patient and skillful dentist. With her team’s assistance, my 4-year-old son turned his mission impossible into successful experience, including cleaning and filling.

Dr. chen and her team are like my best friends and family in jersey. Even I moved to Manhattan for years, I still drive all the way from Manhattan to see them. I still remembered the first time I met Dr. chen, I had no idea who was she. I was trying to build up an Invisalign plan. One of my friend, she is a dentist in the city. Her service and attitude drove me crazy. After first visit I was bleeding a lot from my month, and she blended on my side. Later on, all of sudden I saw one review from internet about Dr. chen, I was driving one hour to her office and watching she help a little girl to fix her teeth. I could tell she was a very patient Doctor. Afterwards I went to her office more than 8 years. Her team members are very friendly, they always make my laugh when I was visit them. I first visited Dr. Chen's office at North Brunswick in 2014. Now they have the second office at Princeton. My family has been using her dental practice for years. Dr. Chen is a professional, honest and nice dentist. She treated me like an old friend. I trust her advice and service from root canal, crowning to implanting. The office is clean and well-decorated. I had a different dentist at the time, being that I am an American, and my wife is Chinese, so she started going to Doctor Chen. I worked in an oral care division of a company, and did clinical studies, so I knew a little bit about dental hygiene. I saw how accurate and professional Doctor Chen was with my wife and after a few visits I switched over to her for my own dentist. I have been very pleased with Doctor Chen for over four years now and she will be my Doctor for life. I am very impressed with how professional her and her staff are with their patients. They are top quality. That's why the name of the office is called LC Quality Dental, because it is quality and I am very lucky to have her as my dentist.

My third upper right tooth was hurt when biting hard food. Dr. Chen suggested to have a ceramic crown to cover that tooth due to it's probably cracked. There is no way to tell it's cracked or not, even the X-ray cannot see. I chose to have the ceramic crown. Now the tooth is good. thanks

I'm am so glad to review this company, I went to get a double extraction and my teeth cleaned, before I arrived everyone told me it will be terribly painful and scared me emensely. I ended up having little to no pain and never even needed any pain medication for relief. The team at this establishment work so great together and made me feel so welcome. I love my new dentist! Ps. I traveled an hour to get top notch service and they truly delivered!
